Minilesson on Twitter

When looking at the Language Today account, it was blowing up with tweets on the Vice Presidential debate. I started contemplating a lesson on looking at the language of people tweeting about the debate. Not only are they looking at language, but at a situation that is directly influencing their lives. There are several different ways to go about this lesson. It would be interesting to openly discuss this debate in class, which would mean that it would have to be a recording. Then to either have the twitter account opened by each student or to have a section of the posts printed for each student. They may then analyze the ways in which people interpret what was said in the debate.
